As Director of Client Services & Strategic Communications for Espousal Strategies, Mike leads the Strategic Communications & PR team, helping clients connect with their audiences and build public support for their goals.

He previously worked on the campaigns of Wisconsin Gov. Jim Doyle, President Barack Obama, and U.S. Sen. Jeff Merkley before joining Sen. Merkley’s Washington D.C. office as press secretary. In the U.S. Senate, Mike developed and executed communications strategies to reduce America’s dependence on foreign oil, stem the foreclosure crisis and reform the nation’s healthcare system.

Mike believes in the power of communities to lead positive change, helping progressive organizations advance their priorities with new ideas, clear language and an eye on the political landscape.
As a communications strategist, Mike has supported dozens of public agencies and organizations, including the Joint Office of Homeless Services, Seattle Department of Transportation, Metro, Oregon Health Authority, Smart Growth America, the Family Justice Network, Knight Foundation and Fair Shot for All.
