Director of Government Relations​

As Director of Government Relations for Espousal Strategies, Aaron serves as a lobbyist and political strategist for government agencies and nonprofit organizations, helping them advocate for their priorities with local, state, and federal elected officials and policymakers. He also manages the firm’s Government Relations team and provides strategy for a wide range of projects.

 

Aaron brings almost three decades of experience in government affairs, including 15 years as Government Affairs Manager for TriMet where he spearheaded landmark initiatives including decriminalizing fare enforcement, developing Oregon’s largest ever investment in transit (HB 2017), and streamlined land use processes for light rail. Prior to his time at TriMet, Aaron was a legislative assistant for United States Congressman Peter DeFazio in Washington D.C. and in the Oregon Legislature for former Minority Leader Kitty Piercy of Eugene.
